Forests, climate and livelihoods are interconnected

Forests can play a vital part for both climate- and poverty issues; in reducing the emissions of greenhouse gases and as a source of income for poor people that depend on the forest for their livelihood.

Focali

Focali

Focali is a Swedish research network aimed at ensuring that Sida and other Swedish actors have access to relevant knowledge for efficient use of forest operations to reach climate- and poverty targets.

REDD

REDD

REDD stands for Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation. It is aimed at reducing emissions of carbon dioxide from forests.

Welcome to Focali

Focali (Forest, Climate, and Livelihood research network) is a Swedish research network focusing on forest / bio-energy, climate change and poverty issues. Several Swedish universities and institutions are represented in the network. The purpose is to contribute to the provision of relevant knowledge to Sida and other Swedish authorities for the effective use of forest operations to achieve climate-poverty targets. Focali also aims to increase the flow of relevant information between scientists, industry, government and civil society. Focali is a part of The Forest Initiative - a strategic partnership between Sida, the Swedish Forest Agency and the Swedish Forestry Association
